Job Summary

Rockwell Automation is looking for someone to advance their career as a Manager of Electrical (Hardware) Engineers. You will sustain existing products for our growing safety, visualization, and highly available product lines, a key part of our portfolio. You will have the ability to make major impacts on the health and success of a large portfolio of products, collaborating with leadership across Engineering, Product Management, Business, Project Management, and Quality. In this role you will manage the critical delivery of objectives and keep product shipping and aligned to the global standards our customers expect. The environment fosters a collaborative and innovative approach to work with teams across the globe. It is dynamic, fast-paced, and requires a highly motivated individual with a passion for teams and products. In this role you will be expected to be a leader, mentor, and coach your to your team to maintain high performance levels. Youll work with internal and external product groups, external design partners, and third-party partners to accomplish this mission. With success in this role, you will have the opportunity to grow and develop with increased scope and responsibility.

You will:

  • Manage a team of 10 people of Hardware Engineers in a servant leadership manner to provide coordination and guidance for your team in the areas of sustaining engineering, productivity, quality and compliance, design integrity, implementation, test, and mitigation of quality issues.

  • Take leadership for an organizational initiatives and work across peer managers across the world to move initiatives forward. This could be in areas like talent management, continuous integration/ delivery, or process change, among others. You will also be responsible for project sponsorship as well. This too would likely be a global development.

  • Ensure product development activities comply with corporate and business level processes and procedures. Be responsible for helping the team think and create a continuous improvement mindset against those processes and procedures. Help the team remove barriers to execution.

  • Develop the team and assist them with goal setting and achievement by providing for their continued development, motivation, and performance management. Work with individuals to help them reach their full potential.

  • Encourage a positive and inclusive work environment to foster outstanding performance. Work with leadership to understand and then implement the vision of a performance driven and collaborative workplace.

  • Help your team eliminate non-value add work by leading improvement activities in design capabilities and processes so your team is best in class in sustaining engineering.

  • Be relentless in our pursuit of creating quality designs and high quality software delivered and tested right the first time.
